A Mom Who Gets Stuff Done

Supporting Students, Teachers and Our Community

Stephanie’s Priorities for Our Schools

To Be a Voice for our Underserved Populations

As a parent active in our schools for nearly 20 years, Stephanie has seen first-hand the struggles of students and families whose voices are often unheard: our communities of color, English learners, military families, and students with special needs. She will be their advocate, knowing these groups must be heard and provided the time and tools to succeed.

To Ensure Our Teachers Have the Support They Deserve

Beyond fair compensation, Stephanie knows we must acknowledge and act with the understanding that teachers are our most valuable resource. More teaching assistants, more support for special services, and more freedom to teach as they deem necessary are critical to hiring and keeping the best educators for our children.

To Champion Bringing All Our Schools and Classrooms to Welcoming, Modern Standards

Stephanie will fight to make sure capital budgets reflect the reality that many of our middle and elementary schools are in need to renovations, and in some cases, expansion. Learning can only happen when our children and educators feel safe, welcome, and comfortable.

FROM STEPHANIE

Putting Passion
to Work

Dear Neighbors,

In February, I decided to run for the Board of Education of Anne Arundel County Public to represent District 4.

My goals are simple — I want to be a voice for students, staff, and parents. All students need to have the same resources available to be successful, all staff needs to feel supported and heard, and all parents need to know how to support their students, and this includes knowing how to advocate and who to advocate to. Not everyone has the capabilities to lobby for what they need due to time or financial concerns. That is where I can help. I can be the voice for those who need one.

I have lived in Anne Arundel County for 25 years, and started volunteering in our schools in 2005 when my first child started school. I’m still involved today at the primary and secondary schools in the Arundel High School cluster.

My passion is kids: all kids. Besides being involved in the schools, I also am involved in our community recreation program, where my goal is to get as many kids involved in sports as possible, including helping families overcome financial hardships related to sports activities.

I want to be your voice and sincerely ask that you share your concerns with me. Tell me about services at your school that you need. Tell me about teaching in a classroom that is in desperate need of repair. Tell me your frustrations, your hopes, and your wants for our school system. I’ve seen many issues over years of involvement, and I want to do whatever I can to help ease the struggles felt by everyone in education.

Please reach out at votemutchler@gmail.com. I am ready to be your voice for Anne Arundel County Public Schools.

Sincerely,

Stephanie Mutchler
